Biography
Scott joined the firm in 2020, after practicing energy law in Abilene, Texas from 1974 until he moved to San Antonio to be closer to family. Scott is now retired but prior to such retirement was Board Certified in Oil, Gas and Mineral Law (1997) and represented energy firms, mineral owners and landowners in a variety of matters, including, without limitation, negotiating and documenting purchases and sales of producing properties and mineral interests; drilling and division order title opinions; and obtaining court appointed Receivers to deliver oil and gas leases and leasehold interests.
He graduated from the University of Texas (B.B.A., 1968) and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the Marine Corps. Upon graduation from the University of Texas School of Law (J.D., 1970), he served in the Marines, last as a Special Court Martial Judge at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California, until 1974 when he moved to Abilene to practice law.
